IMPORTATION RESTRICTIONS :

PROHIBITED ITEMS

• Controlled drugs and utensils used therewith
• Firearms, ammunition, and explosives (including fireworks) unless accompanied by a valid license, signed by the commissioner of Police.
• Obscene items or pornographic literature, films, or videotapes.

ATTEMPS TO IMPORT ANY PROHIBITED ITEMS CAN RESULT IN PROSECTION, THE IMPOSITION OF FINES AND/OR IMPRISIONMENT, AND SEIZURE OF GOODS.

Plants, Animal & Meat Products :

Plants, Plant Products, Fruits, vegetables, seeds and other 'regulated plant articles', except for 'manufactured products' (but not including 'grains'), cannot be imported into the country without a Plant Import Permit.

Animals, Meat, Poultry and Fish and other 'animal-related articles' cannot be imported into the country without an Animal Import Permit.

An application must be made to the Agriculture Department and the appropriate fee paid prior to import.

CUSTOMS DUTIES :

The Turks & Caicos Islands Government customs tariff has an extensive range of rates applicable to imported cargo. Rates, announcements, and other information are available on the Customs Department website: www.customs.gov.tc (Internet Explorer Recommended).

Note – Customs Processing Fee (CPF) is additional fee charged to goods after import duty, also regardless of an item being “duty free”. The current rate is 7.5%.
